We hired certified Inc to change our roof in 2012 with a 15 year warranty. We have a leak in the roof and they do not want to honor the warranty because there are pine needles in the roof. According to them there is lack of maintenance but I can prove that we have had the roof cleaned of pine needles four times a year. The problem is, I believe, that the company was bought from the owner who installed our roof and they are not honoring contracts signed by that previous owner. Nobody informed us that the company was sold. They came once to check on the roof but there was a 2 inch layer of ice and the photos they took show that ice. Their worker said that he could not see the problem because of that ice. In fact, in their photos you can see very little pine needles in the roof and a very thick layer of ice in the area with the problem. Since then they don't want to send anyone else to check the roof and they say they are not responsible for the damage and will not honor the warranty that covers both material and workmanship for 15 years, both outside and inside since the leakage damaged the drywall in the master bedroom. They say that if we want our roof fixed we have to pay for what they quoted the repair to be. Aside from the current damage, this seems to mean that a 15 year warranty that I paid for was not even valid for 9 years since this is the first time that we need repair on the roof. How is this possible whe we still have another 6 years to go under that warranty?
